What do ALS members do at the ALS track when no one else is around?

On Saturday, Sept. 12, the members were hanging out after the regular run time and before the Night Run.

So they were having fun combining all the cars they could find to pull behind one engine.

One of the newest ALS engineers August Naranjo pulled 20 cars around the track. Jack Klingbeil also known as “the founder guy” recalled the prior record was 24 cars pulled by one engine around the track.

That record was set some years ago.

So the members scrounged up 7 more cars and August pulled 27 cards around the track to break that record.

The train we so long it covered the entire trestle with its two bridges.

This picture was taken from one trestle bridge to the other of the same train.

Engineer August looks back over the first of the passenger cars.

Junior Brakeman Sam checks the rest of the passenger cars.

Sam and Jack check the work train section of the 26 cars.
