New Membership Chair initiates Membership Drive!

 At the May 23, 2009 Special Membership meeting President Katkus discussed the club needing to work on getting new members and even a person dedicated to membership. Jan W. volunteered to be the Membership Chair.

She talked about potential opportunities for have a table at the Christmas bazaars in the Fall as well as Fur Rendevous next February. There was also a lot of disucssion of doing a Float in the Fourth of July Parade in Wasilla. Members talked about how much attention that received in the past.

So Jan is working on the application to participate in the 4th of July parade in Wasilla. She's also looking for people to help out with the parade float!

Jan is looking for float design ideas that will be our group's interpretation of the theme "Statehood".  We will need to submit a short paragraph to be read by an emcee as our float passes the reviewing stand.  We can stop in front of the reviewing stand briefly if we have a song, dance or musical rountine.  Ribbons will be awarded in each category (we're nonprofit) 1st, 2nd, 3rd at the Wasilla Community Picnic in Idita-park next to the Honor Garden.
